Home (a story of sorts)
51Home (a story of sorts)
It's said that only two things are infinite
The universe and human stupidity
And I'm not really sure about the universe
And sometimes not about me
For any man, no cause, no war
Because there is no cause greater than life
And life is here, with my family
Jesus in Heaven, and on earth my wife
When I was away, my return was all I dreamed of
Now I'm home and it's greater than a dream
I found a twig in the mouth of a white dove
Washed out my eyes and there fell out a beam
Once I left home and went on the road
It had to be, so the story could start
But unto you my fellow travelers
I'll always keep you in my heart of hearts
If we perish, we do so alone
But if we live, we will live as one
Now here I'll stay, with you my friend
The song must last 'til the work is done
The ghost of what I once was will haunt me no more
When I'm loved, then I am needed and free
The slower love ripens, the sweeter when plucked
Love for my Father, and a love for me
And now comes the time that all labors are over
And now comes the time when all woes depart
And now comes the time and home comes the hero
And now comes the time he comes home to his heart
