Woman Child
Well I was on my way back east from Dallas
When I saw a girl walking down the street
I pulled over to the side
And asked her if she wanted a ride
Just sit down and rest your tired feet
Late that night we made love together
I held he close as she say by my side
Her love was strong, her voice was mild
Both a woman and a child
I asked if she would be my bride
She such a lovely woman child so young only seventeen
She turned me on with just a smile
No one could love that woman child like me
We laughed a while then talked about our future plans
I pulled her close then I fell off to sleep
When I woke up she was gone
She'd left me there all alone
But then I saw her letter on the seat
The letter said I sure would like to be your wife
But you deserve a better girl than me
I'm gonna leave so don't be sad
I hope you don't think I'm bad
But I'm too young to start a family
She's such a lovely woman child
So young only severteen
She'll turn you on with just a smile
No one could love that woman child like me
And I wonder where that woman child could be
